Some San Ramon residents posted on Facebook that the power was restored around 8:30 p.m.
Reader Isabel Lau wrote, via comments that she got two calls from PG&E last night about the outages.
"The power outage was quite extensive. It reached Castro Valley. According to PG&E (two phone received from them) they suffered damage to underground equipment. The first call said power would be restored by 5am - when in fact power had already been restored to our neighborhood. The second call said they were working at getting it back by 1:36am. I'm a few blocks from Bollinger Canyon Elem. School."
