Photo Gallery: Veterans Memorial Building Opens in Danville

It was a beautiful day for a ribbon cutting at the Veterans Memorial Building.

After nearly two years, the Veterans Memorial Building is open.

No longer is the corner of Hartz and Prospect a construction site. And, Saturday afternoon, it was abuzz with hundreds of residents, veterans, and town staff and elected officials for the opening of the 18-month project that cost a little more than $8 million.

"Restoring this building is our very small way to show gratitude to those who sacrificed so much for our nation," Danville Mayor Candace Andersen said during the ceremony. "We are a community who cares. Thank you all for being here."
