Park of the Week: San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park

Beat the heat and stretch out your summer with a splash at San Ramon's Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park.

One of San Ramon's biggest prides and joys is the city's amazing park system. Our city has a whopping 53 parks spread throughout our vast community, ranging from small neighborhood playgrounds to multi-acre, multi-feature parks.

Each week we'll be highlighting one of our city parks, showing you photos, listing park features, and telling you what's special about them. We have so many parks that it will take Patch more than a year to profile each of them. So if you have a special park you'd like featured next, let us know!

Park of the Week: San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park

Is the recent heat wave making you yearn for fall's fast approach? Don't let the sun melt the last of your summer spirits! Instead of staying cooped up in your air conditioned cave why not take a dip? The San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park has four acres of outdoor swimming facilities and opportunities for the whole family to make a splash.

Open on each day of the week, the Aquatic Park is a fully ADA accessible public space where members can engage in lap swimming, swim lessons, recreation swimming, lifeguard certification classes and several other programs throughout the season. If you have a certain activity in mind just be sure to check what hours it's offered. For instance, the pool is only open for free rec. swim on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

If you're looking for a place to hold that last summer bash or to celebrate a swim fan's birthday, the park even lets you rent the pool picnic tables. This option is open to both San Ramon residents and non-residents who wish to stake out some valuable pool real estate.

If all of this sounds too refreshing to resist, dog paddle your way over to the San Ramon Olympic Pool and Aquatic Park and keep the season going strong. The daily facility usage fee for families and adults 18 and over is $4 and for seniors over the age of 65, $3. Adults must accompany children in the water during Family Lap Swim hours.
