Kids Day at the San Ramon Farmer's Market

Children were the focus at the open-air market on Saturday.

Kids were the center of attention at the San Ramon farmer's market this weekend.

With playtime, face-painting, crafts and a safety booth, the little ones had plenty to keep them busy.

Face painter Shelly Yen painted a Hello Kitty on 6-year-old Bella Brown. Karla Allen of Shop Lilliana's bows is a regular at the Farmer's Market, selling colorful bows and tutus at affordable prices. Barbara Casados, a local businesswoman from San Ramon owns Kiss the Toad Creations, making custom superhero capes for children.

NewYork Life hosted a safety booth that allowed parents to get digital fingerprints, photos and wallet ID cards for their youngsters. Tassajara 4-H had a petting zoo. American Swim Academy hosted a craft table and kids jumped nearby in the bounce house.

Local band The Oak Grove supplied the soundtrack for the morning, performing bluegrass music.

There were plenty of things to eat as well, from kettle corn, to baked Brie and gourmet flavored butter to fresh fruits and vegatables.

The San Ramon farmer's market takes place each Saturday through October at Forest Homes Farms on San Ramon Valley Boulevard. If you missed the activities this weekend, check out this photo gallery.
