Here's your roundup of Patch's picks for weekend fun in the Tri-Valley.

Why Go: Catch famous funnyman Kevin Nealon this weekend as the actor and former "Saturday Night Live" cast member performs at Tommy T's. Nealon performs Friday night at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. and Saturday night at 7 and 9:30 p.m.

Where/When:  Friday at 6 p.m. at the Blackhawk Plaza in Danville
Why Go: Need an excuse to wear that cowboy hat? Dress up in your cowboy best for the Blackhawk Plaza's Cowboy Ball. Enjoy line dancing lessons and demonstrations. Don't forget your boots — the event also features a contest for the best cowboy (or cowgirl) boots.

Where/When: Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. at Las Positas College in Livermore
Why Go: Be one of the first to see Phantom of the Country Opera when it opens this weekend. Las Positas College presents this heart-warming country-western spoof of Phantom of the Opera.
Price: $15, $10 for seniors and students

Where/When: Saturday at 8 p.m. the Bankhead Theater in Livermore
Why Go: Lots going on at Forest Home Farms this weekend: First comes starting at 10 a.m. And then you can tour the Glass House and Boone property. Don't miss the new exhibit
Price: Earth Day event is free. Guided Tours of Glass House and Forest Home Farms cost $5 each or $8 for both tours.

Where/When: Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore
Why Go: Enter a musical time machine and tap your feet to hits such as The Lion Sleeps Tonight and I Only Have Eyes For You during "All the Best of Doo Wop." Relax as a comedy host takes you on a tour of the favorite hits from the '50s and '60s.

Out of Town Picks: 

Celebrate the blooming cherry blossoms during the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend in San Francisco. More than 200,000 people are expected to attend the annual event on April 9-10 and April 16-17. You'll find food booths, cultural performances, martial arts, live bands, the annual Queen Program and more on Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore streets. Get all the details at www.nccbf.org.
