Around the World in San Ramon

Looking forward to something family friendly and FREE  to do on a beautiful weekend in October?  For the 5th year in a row Neil Armstrong Elementary School will be hosting a multicultural fair. October 4, 2013   4:30-7:30pm

The fair,  sponsored by the PTA,  will have a slide show with interesting facts from the 21 countries represented, a  booth for each country, with delicious food to sample,  and colorful exhibits about their culture.  You can also get your "passport" stamped and  enjoy crafts from around the world at the activity tables.  Learn about clothing from different countries modeled by students participating in the fashion parade; watch cultural performances and listen to international music. When your kids are finished with their" tour of the world" stop by the last table for a souvenir.

"Everyone is encouraged to dress up! We  are hoping every family member will come dressed in ethnic clothing, a t-shirt or a sports shirt to showcase their country’s colors.",said Kellie Fahey, Inclusion and Diversity committee chair for Neil Armstrong PTA. Considering we are number 10 in racially diverse cities in Contra Costa County we do have a lot to represent and share.( Danville is number 15 in racial diversity, just for comparison.)
