The smell of barbecued meat might be a little stronger over San Ramon later this week.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit is hosting a grand opening Thursday at their restaurant at 3191-D Crow Canyon Place.
The festivities will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. During that time, customers can purchase $1 pulled pork sandwiches. Three customers will win free barbecue for a year.
The San Ramon restaurant but this week is their official kick-off.
Dickey's Barbecue was founded 70 years ago by Travis Dickey of Dallas, Texas. There are now 280 locations in 43 states.
