Grand Opening for PG&E Gas Control Center in San Ramon

The grand opening for the state-of-the-art gas control center that will house 2,000 employees in San Ramon will be held Friday, Dec. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

PG&E spent $38 million for the complex which will act as the "nerve center" for the utility's natural gas system, according to Mercury News

The control center is located at 6121 Bollinger Canyon Road in Bishop Ranch.

“We’re dealing with 7,000 miles of transmission pipeline, 42,000 miles of distribution pipeline and all the information about the health of that system in real time is brought to this one location,” said Mel Christopher, PG&E’s senior director of gas system operations in a PG&E video.
