Asian Street Food Restaurant to Open in San Ramon

Spice Kit features farm-fresh Korean and Vietnamese fast-food.

BY JANE McINNIS

A casual noshery featuring Asian street food is preparing to open at Crow Canyon Commons in March, the restaurant founder confirmed Tuesday.

'Spice Kit' is operated by French-trained chefs Will Pacio and Fred Tang. The duo hung up their toques years ago to open counter-service eatery featuring Asian street food with locally-sourced ingredients.

This will be the third location for the team, with locations in Palo Alto (340 South California Ave.) and San Francisco near Rincon Hill (405 Howard Street). The exact address of the restaurant in Crow Canyon Commons is not yet known.

If you're hankering for grilled pork belly, a classic bánh mì sandwich or the Korean ssäm bap, this place has you covered.

"Frankly, Spice Kit’s ssäm, buns and taro chips are about as good as any food can get," reads a 2011 review of the restaurant in the San Francisco Examiner.
