A Little Bit of Everything at Danville Fall Crafts Festival This Weekend

Art, music, cars, food and costumes are a few of the things on featured at the Danville Fall Crafts Festival this weekend.

Tens of thousands are expected to descend on Danville this weekend for the 21st annual Danville Fall Crafts Festival.

The festival, hosted by the Town of Danville and the Danville Chamber of Commerce, features about 200 merchants from around the country, including local merchants. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Not only art, but there will also be music, gourmet food, a glass pumpkin patch, children’s games and train rides.

Though the event give residents an opportunity to enjoy a weekend downtown, it also give the Town of Danville a chance to show off it's downtown businesses to visitors from around the Bay Area.

"The objective festival is two fold," said Martha Levison, the festival's event director. "It gives people a chance to enjoy great artists from all over the county, but also it brings people to Danville and give us a chance to show off the town and hopefully they come back."

It all kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday with a kids costume parade, led by Penny the miniature rescue horse from Horses Healing Hearts.

On Sunday, the inaugural Fall Crafts Classic Car Show will be the main event, taking place on East Prospect Street. Around 35 classic cars will be on display and County Supervisor Candace Anderson and Mayor Newell Arnerich, among others, will announce winners from the event.

With many roads being closed downtown, riding your bike might be your best option to get downtown. A bike parking station, sponsored by Sustainable Danville Area and Adopt-a-Family Bikes, will be available at the Balford Building Parking lot at 675 Hartz Avenue.
