So How Can I Recycle My Christmas Tree?

San Ramonians have three recycle options for their tree.

Santa has come and gone, the presents have been opened, the cleanup is (hopefully) completed, so what to do with the tree now?

Well, for San Ramon residents, there is no rush. If want to keep the tree and ornaments up for a couple more weeks, you can. But, eventually, you know it has to go.

Valley Waste Management and the City of San Ramon gives three recycle options:

  1. Cut the tree up yourself and place it in your yard waste cart with the lid closed.
  2. The Boy Scouts will take the tree of your hands on Saturday, Jan. 7 for a $5 donation. You can schedule a pickup by going to www.sanramonscouts.org, or email them at SanRamonTrees@yahoo.com, or you can call at 925-362-8960.
  3. Or you can place your tree curbside the week of Jan. 9 and it will be picked up on your regular collection day. Just cut the tree so it's no more than 6-feet in length.
