Love Your Mom? Then Count the Ways

A short essay could win three local student a $500 gift certificate to get their mom a gift for Mother's Day.

is sponsoring the contest, which is open to all San Ramon Valley students – from public or private schools.

There are three categories: Third grade and under, fourth to sixth grade and seventh grade and up.

The winner from each category gets a $500 gift certificate to Heller Jewelers and a $200 check for their classroom.

"This is our first year doing this," said Scott Heller, a Danville resident whose business has been in San Ramon for 14 years. "We wanted to do something that would get the community involved."

Submissions are due by May 1. They must be 100 words or less and be marked at the top with the student's name, address, phone number, school address, teacher and grade level. The bottom of the essay must include the word count.

Essays may be hand-delivered or mailed to Heller Jewelers at 2005 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 168, San Ramon CA, 94583.
