'American Idol' Finalist to Perform at Local Singing Contest

LaToya London, who appeared on 'American Idol' in 2004, will be one of the judges at this year's Valley Teen Idol contest.

An American Idol finalist will judge and perform at a local youth singing competition in June.

LaToya London, who competed on the national TV show in 2004, will lend her ear and her voice to the sixth annual Valley Teen Idol next month.

The Valley Idol raises money for the Diablo-San Ramon Valley Rotary Foundation, a nonprofit service club.

KTVU Channel 2 journalist Steve Paulson will emcee the event, which takes place at 1 p.m. June 11 at CrossWinds Church, 6444 Sierra Court in Dublin. There will be food and live music for the first couple hours – the contest starts at 3 p.m.

In addition to hearing the vocal talent of Tri-Valley youth, attendees can bid on items in the silent and live auctions.
