Stroke Support Group of Contra Costa County Meeting


What:The support group will feature speaker David Blaschka, a personal trainer focusing in older adult exercising. Attendees will break up into three coping groups: stroke survivors without aphasia, stroke survivors with aphasia, and caregivers and families of stroke survivors -- each group led by a trained professional.
When: Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.

9/11 Remembered at Memorial Park


What: The Exchange Club will host San Ramon Valley's annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony. Guest speakers, scouts, SRVH chamber choir and doves, according to the San Ramon Express.

Faria Preserve Park Public Hearing


What: The public hearing from August has been continued to further discuss and resolve issues around the proposed 12.7-acre Faria Preserve Park and 0.5-acre Rose Garden within the Northwest Specific Plan Area’s revised Faria Preserve Project.
When: Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.

Backyard Vineyards: Introduction to Growing Grapes


What: In this introduction to growing both table and wine grapes, Contra Costa Master Gardeners Brad Miller and Jim DeFrisco will tell you how to get started, how to plant your grapes, and the care and maintenance of your vines throughout the year.
When: Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

B2B Seminar: Nutrition for Your Lifestyle


What: Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist Susie Garcia will provide practical tips for eating right and easy ways to plan nutritious meals to fuel your body. Light lunch provided.

Musical Dance Class for Youth and Teens


What: All participants will sing, act, and dance, performing scenes and a jazz dance from a popular musical theater production. Previous shows include The Little Mermaid, Annie, Wicked, and The Lion King.

Jam and Bread
