Legos and Listening at the Danville Library

Danville Library's popular Legos and Listening program is designed for children to hone their listening skills and explore creativity while listening to recorded stories and creating projects with Lego building blocks. Open to children ages 4-9 with registration required at (925) 837-4889.

SRVUSD 'Common Core' Parent Information Night

The evening will begin with a short general session to provide an overview of Common Core Standards and the district’s implementation plan. Parents may then attend two 45-minute sessions, choosing from a wide menu of workshop selections in an effort to meet their needs and answer their questions.  These evenings are for all, from kindergarten parents to parents of seniors.

'Hungry for Change' Film Screening

Join San Ramon Valley High School Environmental Club and Sustainable Danville Area for an evening screening of 'Hungry for Change', a film which exposes secrets that the food industry, diet and weight loss world don't want you to know about.

When: Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m., (film starts at 6:30 p.m.)

Where: San Ramon Valley High Performance Arts Center at 501 Danville Ave. in Danville

Cost: $5 suggested donation

Arts Enrichment Book Club featuring Watercolor Painting

Fourth and fifth graders will learn how to watercolor with a lesson by the California Watercolor Association and receive a free copy of "Planting the Trees of Kenya" by Claire A. Nivola about Wangari Maathia, Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Monte Vista 'Bach to School' Concert

Monte Vista Choir performs their first concert of the year. Tickets available at the door.

Off-Campus Lunch Forum for San Ramon Valley High

Parents, local-business owners, students and school staff will have the opportunity to speak their minds at a forum regarding San Ramon Valley High seniors being allowed to eat lunch off-campus.

When: Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

Where: San Ramon Valley High School cafeteria

Thursdays @ the VT: Duo Gadjo

"Jazz with a French Twist"  Isabelle Fontaine and Jeff Magidson’s music celebrates the union of two cultures inspired by the '20s and '30s as part of the town's entertainment series at the Village Theatre.

When: Thursday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m.

Where: The Village Theatre, 33 Front St., Danville.

Cost: $10 presale, $15 at the door.

Danville Fall Craft Festival

The festival, which is described as "80% contemporary and traditional crafts and 20% fine art," will last the weekend and feature a children's costume parade, a wine and beer garden, art booths and glass pumpkin patch.

When: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27 at 10 a.m.

Where: Hartz Avenue in downtown Danville


Rick Springfield in Concert

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Rick Springfield (Jessie's Girl, Don't Talk to Strangers, Love Somebody) will perform at the San Ramon Performing Arts Center.

When: Saturday Oct. 26-27 at 8 p.m.

Where: Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center at 10550 Albion Rd., San Ramon
