San Ramon Rotary Club to Celebrate 30 Year Anniversary

The Rotary will be celebrating the milestone with a meeting at the Crow Canyon Country Club on March 13.

The worldwide movement of Rotary International (www.Rotary.org) made its way to San Ramon 30 years ago with the formation of one of the first area clubs, the Rotary Club of San Ramon.

The Club began with 22 Charter members, and had the rare distinction of sharing its “Year of Foundation” (1983) with that of the City of San Ramon itself. From its humble, but strong beginnings, the Club helped pave the way for the formation of six Rotary Clubs and thus making Rotary the largest service organization in the area.

Today, the six local Rotary Clubs boast an impressive list of over 300 of the San Ramon Valley's elite serving together to raise funds for local, regional and international grants and service projects, as well as, to help shape the future of our community.

To commemorate this milestone, the Rotary Club of San Ramon will be celebrating the Club’s 30-year anniversary with a special gathering:

·      Thursday, March 13, 2014

·      6:00 PM

·      Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville

“This is a very special moment for our club and for Rotary in the our entire region,” said Rotary Club of San Ramon President Barry Toby. “Many of our charter members will be in attendance, and this is a great opportunity for us to honor them, and honor the Rotary footprint we started in this community 30 years ago.”
