About 10,000 runners will come to Danville and San Ramon on Sunday, hitting the blacktop to run to raise money for San Ramon Valley schools in the 29th annual Primo's Run for Education.
There are two races. A 1/2 marathon that begins at Primo's Pizza in Danville at 7:15 a.m. and a 5k run that starts at Iron Horse Middle School at 8:15. Both races conclude at Iron Horse Middle School.
Online registration is still open for the event until 10 p.m. on Saturday. You register for either race by clicking this link. Online, the 1/2 marathon costs $65 and the 5K costs $35 (or $30 if you don't want to be timed). Registration on race day will cost $75 and $45.
The race is sponsored by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, and takes all the money raised from the race and gives it to San Ramon Valley schools.
Last year, about $300,000 was raised and Cristene Burr, the event's organizer, believes it will be even more this year.
"We had 9,000 runners last year and we'll have about 10,000 this year," Burr said. "The money we raised is focused on enhancing the curriculum of the students."

6 a.m. — Late registration for ½ marathon at Primo's Pizza (298 Hartz Ave., Danville)
7 a.m. — Registration ends.
7:15 a.m. — Marathon begins.
9 a.m. — Shuttle begins transport back to start.
5K Run Schedule
7 a.m. — Late registration: Iron Horse Middle School (12601 Alcosta Blvd., San Ramon)
7:30 a.m. — Late registration ends.
7:45 am — Entertainment and warm-up.
8:15 am — 5K timed race begins.
8:30 am — 5K Fun Run/Walk begins.

10:00 am — Awards start being announced (on-going)
