Five Things you Need to Know This Week

Week of May 9: San Ramon Valley Residents, here's your need-to-know guide.

Each Monday, we highlight some events in the San Ramon Valley, here's your need-to-know for the week of May 9-May 14.

1. Computer Assistance- On Monday, May 9 at the , teen volunteers will be available to offer one-on-one assistance to adults who need help with their computer skills.  The library is located at 200 Civic Plaza.  From 4-6 p.m. drop in, no appointments necessary. 2. Summer Programs- It’s time to register for a broad range of summer classes going on in the Valley. This is the last week that San Ramon residents will have priority before registration is opened to non-residents on May 16.  For the programs available this year, see the San Ramon Recreation Guide.  The Town of Danville begins registration on May 16.  See their Summer Camp and Current Activity Guide for class listings and registration information. 3. Bike to Work Day- On Thursday, join thousands of Bay Area residents as they bike to work on this annual one-day event. Energizer Stations will be set up throughout the Bay Area to offer giveaways, refreshments, and encouragement to cyclists as they commute. Visit East Bay Bicycle Coalition's Bike to Work Day website to learn more about regional events taking place.

4. Danville Spring Wine & Chocolate Stroll- On Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. enjoy an evening of chocolate and libations at Danville's Chocolate & Wine Stroll. Hand crafted artisan chocolates will be showcased while Livermore wineries pour their best vintages-all against the backdrop of music and merriment. The $25 ticket includes a commemorative glass, wine tasting, chocolate and entertainment. This event takes place in downtown Danville. 5. Women’s Suffrage- Celebrate 100 years of women’s suffrage in California with an engaging and spirited historical re-enactment. Come to the on Thursday from 7-8 p.m. to learn more about the hard-fought campaign to win women the right to vote in California. This event is free and co-sponsored by the Danville Library and the Museum of the San Ramon Valley.  The library is located at 400 Front Street in Danville.
