The city will hold a fair this weekend to put folks 55 years and older in touch with helpful services in the community.
The Live Well Resource Fair and Breakfast runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Alcosta Senior and Community Center, 9300 Alcosta Blvd. The fair is free and open to the public.
The day will start off with a no-cost pancake breakfast provided by the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District.
Then, seniors and their caregivers can peruse a variety of booths to pick up information on exercise, nutrition, travel, finances, housing and more.
Free blood pressure, vision, bone density and other screenings will be available throughout the event.
New this year is a panel discussion about memory challenges faced by older adults and their affect on families. Speakers include neuropsychologist Eric Freitag, Alzheimer's Association Director Ruth Gay and registered nurse Linda Hughes.
