"YOLO" (You only live once) became the theme of the evening as Cal High graduates took their first step into the world on Friday evening during the graduation ceremony.
Both student speakers mentioned the new teenage craze of "YOLO" as they encouraged graduates to live their lives to the fullest and to change the world they were about to officially enter.
AP Biology teacher Andrew White also spoke, teaching the students about compromise, and finishing with lines from the famous Louis Armstrong song, "What A Wonderful World".
"I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
They'll learn much more.....than I'll never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world"
The ceremonies ended with a victory lap around the field, and friends and families streaming to the graduates to take their final high school photos.
