Teen Leader Embarks on a New Journey

One of San Ramon's well respected teen entrepreneurs and community leaders Nitin Yenigalla is getting ready to head off to college this Saturday!

One of San Ramon’s teen entrepreneurs and community leaders is about to head off to the University of California, Riverside, this weekend to embark upon a new journey in his life.

Nitin Yenigalla has lived in San Ramon for most of his life, with the exception of one year he spent in Seoul, South Korea, as a child. Nitin grew up attending schools within the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (, and ) where he was academically proficient and .

I have had the opportunity to serve under Nitin’s leadership in various ventures and campaigns and I know he will be missed by the community and his peers.

Nitin is one of those rare individuals who you come across once in a lifetime. He is someone who is committed, dedicated, and incredibly generous. Nitin has donated much of his time to the community, helped many of his peers and is well respected within the professional community. I don’t know how he did so much during his high school days and managed to stay on top of things in the classroom all the while having a very active social life. Nitin has accomplished so much and has made an impact on so many people at such a young age; many can’t wait to see what he accomplishes through his college experiences.

Many know Nitin has been very active in the community and in the professional world over the past few years but many don’t know the details of what he has actually done. The following is a list of some of his accomplishments and projects: - four years in the Cal High Leadership program in various positions such as ASB Speaker, ASB Treasurer, and ASB Vice President; Student Representative for Cal High PTSA, Academic Boosters and Site Council; three years apart of the City of San Ramon TC serving in the programming committee and Chair of the Community Outreach group; Head of Outreach and Internship’s for Mayor Abram Wilson’s State Assembly Campaign; Intern at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley; Independent and Strategy consultant for multiple campaigns; San Ramon Little League- President of the San Ramon Players Council and an umpire; President and Founder of SizzleStream Consulting; President and DJ/MC of Inova Productions; Over 300+ hours of volunteer work around the community.

Nitin is not only a successful teen entrepreneur, but has proven to be a very versatile individual over the years as well. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Nitin has been known as the face of many events. Whether he be the host or simply an emcee, Nitin has been involved in many events such as California High School's Lip Sync, many of their school rallies and half time shows, as well as Powder Puff and much more. However, he solidified his standing as a public figure through his DJ'ing talents which began at California High School as well. Quickly becoming Cal High's most requested DJ for dances, Nitin's peers will never forget the nights of chanting DJ NY as this remarkable young man embarks off to college.

“It’s going to be hard to leave because of how much this community means to me but I am ready to move on and tackle the college experience," Nitin told me. "I will be back for Cal High’s homecoming and I am looking forward to seeing everyone. San Ramon was a great place to grow up and I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of my childhood because we have an amazing community and it’s going to be hard to leave.”

Nitin also stated that he will be attending California High School’s home football game this Friday as his last thing he does before he leaves to say good bye to many friends and colleagues.

I wish Nitin the best of luck as I know much of the community does, and I can’t wait to see everything he accomplishes in the future!

Nitin is one of those rare individuals that you come across once in a lifetime.  He’s intelligent, engaging, a natural leader and a problem solver.  His smile lights up the room. If I were picking teams for any competition, he’d be one of my first choices.  Remember his name because one day soon you’ll be proud to say “I knew him when-----“

Mark Corti- Principal, California High School
Nitin Yenigalla has always been a leader at California High School.  He has an innate ability to communicate with everyone and his attention to detail is unsurpassed.  He freely expresses innovative ideas and understands the challenges encountered in the business world.  He is without a doubt one of the top students I have had the pleasure to work with at California High School.

I’ve had the pleasure to work with Nitin Yenigalla this last year on several projects. The first thing that jumps out to me is his positive approach to problem-solving. It’s a joy to watch him tackle tough problems. He’s reliable and tenacious, and a quick-thinker when confronted by a new dilemma. Nitin is easy to communicate with, and I highly recommend his work.
