Sachs Earns Contra Costa Times Endorsement

San Ramon City Council candidate Harry Sachs received the endorsement of the Contra Costa Times editorial board Friday, August 30th.  http://www.contracostatimes.com/san-ramon/ci_23973442/contra-costa-times-editorial-san-ramon-council-candidates

“… Planning Commissioner Harry Sachs … seem(ed) to understand the issues facing the city of 74,000: the structural budget deficit; the long-standing fights over growth; employee salaries and benefits, including pensions; and the financing scheme for the long-discussed City Center project,” the board stated.

Clearly experience matters.  “The issues facing San Ramon are very complex and I have spent the last ten years serving both on the planning commission as well as various city committees.  Residents can count on me to be well prepared and ready to serve them on day one,” Sachs stated.

The editorial board added, “…as for Sachs, he understood the issues and could cogently discuss them. He recognizes that city employees need to make more than a minimal contribution toward their pensions.”

Sachs, who has been walking San Ramon neighborhoods since July 30th and has visited over 4,500 homes, explained that “residents across San Ramon have expressed to him that they are concerned about continued growth, traffic and school impacts.  Many are concerned about the 680 HOV freeway ramps proposal for Norris Canyon Pkwy.  I am ready to bring a slower growth approach to the City Council.”
