Member volunteers at Assistance League® Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way in Lafayette, want to remind you that Thanksgiving Day falling on the last Thursday of November will offer a week’s grace period to prepare for your annual sumptuous feast. As in previous years, a one stop shopping spree at this well-known landmark, scheduled for Tuesday, November 12 through Saturday, November 16, will help you commemorate an event rich with tradition and gratitude. You will welcome your guests to table and hearth with such harvest themed decor items as pumpkins, turkeys, festive dinnerware, decorative candles, floral centerpieces, place cards--all resting on crisp linens, all available at a fraction of retail value (We’ll keep that part to ourselves).
Venturing further into the thrift shop, you will discover a virtual “ski chalet” that will equip you when departing from the Bay Area to answer the call of the snowcapped Sierra. You’ll find such items as ski jackets, pants, bibs, gloves, scarves, hats, after ski boots, and goggles for men, women, and children. What a glorious fitness regimen that the entire family will enjoy!
When you donate items and shop at Assistance League Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, EVERYBODY will benefit! Schoolchildren will experience more success, families will receive food, scholarships and teacher grants will be awarded, seniors will enjoy their independence via daily reassurance calls, while others in care facilities will enjoy choreographed musical revues. Such “Caring and Compassion” will surely give greater meaning to your Thanksgiving, deservedly so.
