On Saturday, August 13, 2011, from 10am to 3pm, Forest Home Farms Historic Park is turning back the clock and hosting a FREE Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social. Each person will receive a ticket for one free scoop of ice cream. Additional ice cream scoops, hot dogs, gelato and San Ramon honey will be available for purchase.
Activities include old-fashioned games, face-painting and tractor rides, as well as a display of Antique Pierce Arrow cars, sheepdog demonstrations and other old-fashioned exhibitors. Musical entertainment from Men in Brass begins at 11:30am. The Gift Shoppe will be open selling tea accessories, Forest Home Farms food items and other unique gifts.
Costumed docent led tours of the restored Victorian Glass House Museum are available at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm and guided tours of Forest Home Farms Historic Park, including the tractor museum, are at 11am and 1pm. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and the fee is $5 per person or $8 for both tours taken on the same day. Children ages 2 and under are free.
