People of all ages showed up this morning armed with shovels, rakes, trowels and gardening gloves to spruce up the park for spring. They weeded the grounds and the vegetable garden, raked leaves and old straw and planted flowers.

These cheerful workers included individual volunteers as well as students from Pine Valley, Gale Ranch, Iron Horse, and Diablo Vista middle schools and Monte Vista High School. Local organizations also participated, including National Charity League of Rolling Hills, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
