Closed: Fat Cactus Grill and Bar

The Fat Cactus Grill and Bar in San Ramon has closed, according to a Jan. 16 post on their Facebook page. The Mexican restaurant, which had almost 150 mixed reviews on Yelp, will be reopening as Maui Burger Company.

Their Facebook post says:

"To our Loyal Guests:

We have recently closed Fat Cactus Grill & Bar to open a new restaurant in its place at the same location, Maui Burger Company!

If you would like to find out about the Grand Opening, simply text Maui to 69302. We will be sending texts with updates!

Thank you to all of you for your continued business and we look forward to seeing you at Maui Burger Company!!"

The Fat Cactus, which opened in August of 2011 and was located at 11010 Bollinger Canyon Road, promoted their live music and "Taco Tuesdays and Thursdays," will now be serving American and Hawaiian fare including burgers, wings and hot dogs, according to their Facebook page.

The owners have not yet been reached for comment.
